Get Traffic to your site.
There are many ways to get traffic to a site and some of the older ways and those used by non experienced web site owners. Can cause detriment to a site and not bring any site traffic in if they continue to practice the wrong practices.
Yes, the same old non producing methods of getting traffic to a site will not work anymore in the new era of web 2.0. Some of the older methods include banner and lots of button ads that flash and light up distracting your eye from what’s important on the page. The constant pop ups that appear on every page trying to get you to sign up for something and those aggressive web rings which will do nothing but cause some sort of Google slap as the end result. And the end of these things is no traffic and worse yet you risk having your site taken down or temporary from the search engines like Google and Yahoo or permanently erased in the end.
Now that is not something that you wish to happen to your site, now do you?
So you ask. Well what are some techniques that will send laser targeted traffic my site?
Here I am going to Show you 10 ways to get traffic to your site that is laser targeted.
• Keywords- are one the main skill set you should develop when it comes to your site. Each page, folder name, title, content, etc should all be optimized with the correct keywords.
• Contests- People love contests and if you have something that you can give away or something that would benefit your targeted audience. Invite them to your site and host a giveaway in exchange for them submitting something or whatever it is that you want them to do. If you do not have anything to promote or give away, network and find friends in your niche and ask them to joint venture with you in the contest. It will bring them traffic and you traffic also.
• Podcast- Start a podcast in the niche you are in. People love to listen to things and enjoy coming back to a site when there are more things to do like podcasts to download and listen to in their car.
• Forums- Continue with having your own forum. This will bring content to your site with all the included conversations and search engines love content.
• Viral Marketing- Create a free special report on your topic that you feel is important. Give it away to some neighbor sites that you network with in exchange for a link on your site or mention in your newsletter. So that way their followers will soon know who you are. It is all about getting your name out their and establishing your self as an expert as much as you can.
• Article marketing - Article promotion is one of the oldest techniques and still the best way to get incoming links to your site from related sites. By doing the work once and submitting to directories. You can see the benefit time and time again from your effort.
• Design your site to be Seo Friendly- Choose a domain name with the keywords your site is tailored to. Use alt descriptions, Meta tag descriptions, header tag descriptions through out your content accordingly. Just by having a good domain name with keywords you will start to see website traffic coming in.
• Directories- Submit your site to web directories, this will get your site listed quicker and also give you link love.
•Signature files- Use your signature with links to your site in your blog posts, guest blog posts, forums etc.
•Newsgroups- is something that will always bring traffic to a site, use them for promoting your self but only after you have made name for self within that expertise.

Content on a web site is the main key to promoting and sustaining the life of your site, the more content you have the more pages you will have and the more chances you will have of someone finding your website on the internet.
However writing free content is not as easy for most people and many feel that writing can be pretty scary and intimidating at first. That is why I feel one should use a mixture of content when It comes to adding information to their site, if they feel intimidated by the prospect of writing.
Some examples of the different types you could use include:
1. Writing your own unique content for your website
2. Using Private label Rights Articles for your site
3. Private label articles that are rewritten with your own voice
4. Free plr
5. Free Reprint Articles from article directories that are relevant and on point
6. Ebooks that you have with some of the info posted for free to your site.
Many times you find reprint articles that express the same idea that you had in mind or has the same style of writing that is similar to you own voice. These are the free reprints I recommend you use since they would be something you write about and hold some value to your target market. Rewriting a PLR article gives it your voice to the details and information, and also gives you a chance to tweak the keywords. This is your best PLR option, make it your own!
Writing your own unique web content is quite easy and with a little research into what you are going to write about you can easily crank out a small amount of content in no time. Try not to feel too intimidated by how much to write just write the article and stop when you feel the need to stop. Don’t put pressure on yourself to write a large amount, focus more on the quality and what your readers want to read and you will do great.
Realize however that many sites cannot survive on private label resell rights articles alone or on free plr but needs to have content that comes directly from you and adds your own style and flair to it. This is what will set your site apart and make it unique and at the same time increase your readership, with a loyal following.
Use private label articles and Free Plr to a minimum to increase content on your site, but remember the best free web content is you own unique web content.
Search Engine Optimization For Ask

Optimizing your site for the web is one thing but optimizing your site to compete in each different search engine is another. We have already gone over the basics of optimizing your site for yahoo, and Google. Now what other huge sites could there be left to optimize for, you might ask.
Well Ask, of course is a major player as well when it comes to search traffic along with windows live lately and not to forget MSN. But right now we are going to cover some simple things that you could do to help raise your rankings in the search engine ASK.
Although it has not been around long and came in pretty late after all the other search engines it has still been able to hold its ground after much needed advertisements on TV and radio and print magazine features, So Ask has been able to carve its simple 3 letter image into the heads of online internet users. And the one thing that you want for your site is for those users to be able to find your site, not only in Google and Yahoo but also in the smaller players as well like Ask.
To start with, Ask search engine optimization comes with the feel of being able to answer a question for their readership. They are looking for the how to information and the go to information when it comes to answering a question or solving a problem. Ask does not accept web site submissions but instead prefers to find your site through others linking to you.
Ask use what is called Expert Rank, an algorithm in which it places the importance of your site based on whether or not it is a hub or and authorities. Authority sites are those that are the leader in a community of similar sites teaching the same topic. One that has a whole lot of links pointing to them, Hub sites are those that are smaller in the same teaching community but has links pointing out to the larger authority sites. Ask puts sites in communities or clusters of sites and ranks them according to their importance or links. Not to say a hub will not rank high because many do, but in order for this to happen hub sites need at least some authorities sites linking back to them along with a natural progression of linking out to the higher sites.
Ask search engine is also pretty slow when it comes to indexing sites into there search engine, but the best thing to do Is work on getting links from those authorities sites by paying for links, or writing how to information that answers a question and list them in article directories. They do accept advertisements but if you pay for Google adwords your listing is also going to show in their advertisements.
So there you have it, the basic of seo for Ask, how to get indexed. Make sure if you missed part one on Search engine optimization for Google, and Yahoo. Just click on the links below.
Seo for the search engines- Yahoo!

Seo for the search engines- Yahoo!
As we covered in the first lesson on seo for the search engines Google, we covered many of the factors that would likely cause one to rank high in Google. Some of those search engine optimization factors include having good quality content on your site. Having great content is key for Google since they make up and send the most traffic to sites. It is the largest search engine and therefore should not be taken lightly. I always say when you do decide to optimize your site, optimize your site for Google first, then the others will fall into play.
However, when and if you do decide to optimize your site for yahoo, there are a few certain seo techniques that you should consider. For one we all know that the algorithms are constantly changing and many of the search engines look at keywords in the description tag, some the header tag and so on and so forth. With yahoo you can still be rest assured that keywords are a big element that comes into play when optimizing your site for them. As with Google who loves relevant links and quality on page factors. Yahoo loves keywords placed throughout the Meta tag, title tag, and description tag about your site and especially keywords in your domain name. This lets them know what your site is about and how and where to place your site.
But don’t be too quick to think that is all there is to ranking with yahoo, because it is not. Yahoo will not even find you’re unless it is listed and has links from other sites. Directories are big and known with yahoo; try to get your site listed in as many relevant niche directories as you can. And you will find your site being listed a whole lot quicker in yahoo and ranked a little higher also. Many people pay around 200.00 to 250.00 to have their site listed in the yahoo directories. Which in my opinion can help if you get listed, but there is no guarantee that you will even if you pay the money. So if you do decide to pay make sure you have a domain keyword rich website name.
One way to see what pages if you have any listed in yahoo is to do a search using:
site:www.yoursite.com
In the search engine browser. To see what pages yahoo sees linking to your page use
linkdomain://www.yoursite.com
Yahoo owns alltheweb and AltaVista so getting listed in them you are also likely to be listed in them as well. So focus on quality keyword page factors, and off page relevant directories listings.
