Affiliate Marketing Fundamentals: How To Succeed As A Full-Time Affiliate
The more time I spend online, the more convinced I become that making money with an online business is simple. Note that I didn’t say “easy.” Launching a business and building it to the point that it generates a full-time income for you and your family requires effort. It always will. However, the process is straightforward, regardless of whether you’re launching a membership
site, creating information products, blogging, or marching down the road to becoming a super affiliate.
The linchpin is marketing.
Today, I’m going to share with you three affiliate marketing fundamentals that most affiliates either ignore or fail to learn. There is an enormous amount of money at stake. Some affiliate marketers generate millions of dollars each year in commissions. Thousands of affiliates generate six-figure incomes. If you implement the following three basics, you can become a full-time affiliate:
#1 – Learn To Presell Prospects
Judging from the landing pages and sites I’ve seen, most affiliates consider themselves to be salespeople. And they’re going for the hard sell. The problem is that potential buyers are turned off by the hard sell. This is true whether they’re thinking of buying shoes, electronics, or an ebook that shows them how to get into shape.
Your job is not to sell affiliate products. Your job as an affiliate marketer is to “prime the pump” and excite prospects about owning the product you’re promoting. You need to presell them. For example, suppose you’re driving people to a landing page that promotes a weight loss product. They’re probably looking for information to compare with similar products. Your job is to give them the information they want while subtly preselling them with your content. By the time they click through to the merchant’s site, they’ll already have their credit card out.
Imagine meeting someone new and saying to that person, “I’m the smartest and most attractive gal (or guy) in the world. You’d be crazy not to ask me out.” Very few people would be open to that kind of sales pitch. The same is true for affiliate marketing. Learn to presell visitors and you’ll see your conversion rate (and income!) rise.
You should read my Post on How does Affiliate Marketing Work Here.
#2 – Be Yourself
Affiliate marketers love to stay off the radar. They don’t want anyone (including their friends and families) to know what they’re promoting. So, they use aliases in order to cover their tracks. That way, they can promote acai products, adult entertainment, and all manner of items while leaving nobody the wiser.
There are two problems here.
First, it’s easier than most affiliates realize to uncover their identity and sites. In fact, the tools for doing so are becoming more robust. Second, the Federal Trade Commission made a move on October 5th to limit how bloggers represent products. Their guidelines extend to Twitter, Facebook, and all social media sites. The FTC’s oversight of affiliate marketers will probably grow. So, if you’re hiding behind an alias, you may have problems in the future.
Be yourself. Be honest. Use your personality to presell people on buying the products you’re promoting.
#3 – Promote High-Quality Products
Promoting good products should go without saying. While there are plenty of affiliates generating $100,000 a month in commissions from promoting acai products, that income source won’t last forever. It is a money-maker, not a business. In a year’s time, the space will have dried out. In five years (and after taxes), they’ll have a few dollars and plenty of memories. Even the adult entertainment affiliates – whose commission checks were once the envy of affiliates everywhere – have been complaining about how difficult it is to make a buck.
That’s not a way to build a long-term, sustainable affiliate marketing business. Promote high-quality products. If you’re not sure whether a product is good, try it out. If you’re promoting ebooks and software from Clickbank, contact the merchant and ask for a copy. Many of them will be happy to oblige as long as they know you’re serious about promoting their product.
Becoming a full-time affiliate marketer is simple, though it takes time and effort. Whether you’re driving traffic from PPC, search engine optimization strategies, or other internet marketing tactics, you can build a long-term affiliate business.
Learn to presell, be yourself, and only choose high-quality products. The rest is marketing.
How Does Affiliate Marketing Work

How does Affiliate Marketing Work?
Well the first answer to that question is to ask, What is affiliate Marketing?
Look anywhere online today and you will most likely be able to find an affiliate program quite easily for any number of products and services. Affiliate programs can allow you to make money by promoting the sale of
someone else’s products or you can create your own affiliate program for your products or services and have others help you to promote them.
You may be wondering however, “How can I make a success of an affiliate program online?”
Many Online Affiliate programs have programs or services that provide you with all the tools you need to start promoting there program. Some of these tools include graphics and promotional materials to help you to be successful. If you have your own products that you are trying to promote then you should also supply your affiliates with the proper tools they will need in order to make it.
You will want to create an affiliate center on your website where affiliates sign up for the program and are able to login and receive their training, promotional materials and any other information that they need to make the most of your affiliate program.
An affiliate center can be created easy with the help of a virtual assistant.
Before you even begin any sort of marketing you need to pick a domain name and get some hosting.
I recommend Reliable Webs – they have excellent customer support and do free blog installs!
Of course you should have a blog before you decide to any sort of Affiliate Marketing, Right.
You will want to also consider how much each affiliate program that you decide to promote shares there profits with you. Some affiliate programs give50% of the sale or a set amount per sale such as $1 per sale?
This will be an important component of your program that could make you or break you.
After all, the more you promote the more sales you make in the end.
A couple Affiliate’s programs where you can find products to promote include:
- Clickbank – They have a broad range of affiliate programs to get you started quickly and easy.
- Commission Junction – large stock on just about anything you are looking to promote

How To Monetize Your Blog Without Ads

How To Monetize Your Blog Without Ads
Back in April, we talked about how to find advertisers for your blog. I provided a workable blueprint that you can follow to eliminate Adsense ads and attract cream of the crop advertisers. Today, we’re going to take a
completely different route. It’s important that you have a growing toolbox of various strategies that you can use to make money online. Finding advertisers for your blog is one of them. However, there are many bloggers who are saying “No” to advertisers and instead, are using their platforms to make even more money.
Today, I’ll explain a few reasons why relying on advertisers to monetize your blog may be putting a damper on your income. We’ll also take a look at three ad-free strategies you can use to take your blogging to another level.
Why Saying “No” To Blog Ads Makes Sense
One of the major advantages to selling advertising space on your blog is that the monetization scheme is largely passive. This is especially true if you’re using Adsense because you only need to copy and paste the code. Of course, there are a few downsides.
First, blogging is a lot of work. Writing posts that your readers will enjoy and find useful often requires research. Meanwhile, the money you’ll make from advertisers will usually be less than that which you’ll make with other strategies; I’ll get to those in a moment.
Second, when you place ads on your blog and rely solely upon them to generate income, you’re not taking full advantage of your best asset: your influence. Remember, your readers are there because they want to know what you have to say. They’ll come to trust, like, and respect you. That influence can be used to generate far more income than advertisements.
Third, ads can play havoc with your credibility. Here’s why: many bloggers who want to make money with advertising wrap the topics of their posts around the ads. If you’re using Adsense, you already know that some subtopics in your market pay more per click than others. You’ll naturally be tempted to move your posts toward higher-paying subtopics.
Even when selling space to sponsors, you need to produce a return for them in order for them to renew their sponsorships. Otherwise, they won’t continue to buy space on your blog. Eventually, you’ll find yourself “writing to the ad” and your readership will suffer.
Making Money With Your Blog Without Ads
To be sure, you can generate a large income through blogging by placing advertising on your blog. However, other strategies have much better income-generating potential. Here are three of them:
#1 – Promote Affiliate Products
I mentioned earlier that your best asset as a blogger is your influence. Your readers will grow to trust your opinions and recommendations. When you endorse a product that meets their needs, they’re more likely to trust you than an ad. This has enormous potential when you’re writing as an affiliate.
For more information on making money blogging you might want to consider “Probloggers – Secrets of Blogging your Way to a Six Figure Income.”
For example, suppose that you maintain a blog in the diet and fitness space. You’ve tried a nutritional supplement and have noticed that you’ve lost ten pounds. If you post about your experience and recommend the supplement, you’ll see a high conversion rate. This is your influence at work; it will pay much better than clicks on a weight loss banner ad.
#2 – Sell Your Own Products
Selling your own products is a natural fit for a blogger. The influence you have on your readers carries even greater potential to generate income than promoting affiliate products. For example, suppose that you’re selling your own ebooks, DVDs, and supplements in the weight loss space. Your readers are there because they enjoy your information. It’s likely they also respect your recommendations. Whether you’re selling information products, supplements, or exercise equipment, your influence carries weight. That translates into sales.
#3 – Explore New Business Opportunities
You’ll find that some of your readers will approach you to explore a business partnership or other venture. For example, if you gain a significant following in the weight loss market, you might be asked to speak at seminars, co-write a book, or contribute to a training program. There are many people who started as bloggers, but went on to form multiple companies with business partners they met through their blogs.
There are countless ways to make money online with free internet marketing strategies. Blogging is a fantastic way to do it because people will gravitate toward a memorable voice who offers useful information. But, don’t sell yourself short by relying solely on ads to monetize your posts. You can use the three strategies above to generate far more income while having just as much fun.

Top 3 Ways To Boost Your Affiliate Commissions
March 14, 2009 by admin
The ideal world of affiliate marketing does not require having your won website, dealing with customers, refunds, product development and maintenance. This is one of the easiest ways of launching into an online business and earning more profits.
Assuming you are already into an affiliate program, what would be the next thing you would want to do? Double, or even triple, your commissions, right? How do you do that?
1. Know the best program and products to promote. Obviously, you would want to promote a program that will enable you to achieve the greatest profits in the shortest possible time.
There are several factors to consider in selecting such a program. Choose the ones that have a generous commission structure. Have products that fit in with your target audience. And that has a solid track record of paying their affiliate easily and on time. If you cannot seem to increase your investments, dump that program and keep looking for better ones.
There are thousands of affiliate programs online which gives you the reason to be picky. You may want to select the best to avoid losing your advertising dollars.
Write free reports or short ebooks to distribute from your site. There is a great possibility that you are competing with other affiliates that are promoting the same program. If you start writing short report related to the product you are promoting, you will be able to distinguish yourself from the other affiliates.
In the reports, provide some valuable information for free. If possible, add some recommendations about the products. With ebooks, you get credibility. Customers will see that in you and they will be enticed to try out what you are offering.
2. Collect and save the email addresses of those who download your free ebooks. It is a known fact that people do not make a purchase on the first solicitation. You may want to send out your message more than six times to make a sale.
This is the simple reason why you should collect the contact information of those who downloaded your reports and ebooks. You can make follow-ups on these contacts to remind them to make a purchase from you.
Get the contact information of a prospect before sending them to the vendor’s website. Keep in mind that you are providing free advertisement for the product owners. You get paid only when you make a sale. If you send prospects directly to the vendors, chances are they would be lost to you forever.
But when you get their names, you can always send other marketing messages to them to be able to earn an ongoing commission instead of a one-time sale only.
Publish an online newsletter or Ezine. It is always best to recommend a product to someone you know than to sell to a stranger. This is the purpose behind publishing your own newsletter. This also allows you to develop a relationship based on trust with your subscribers.
This strategy is a delicate balance between providing useful information with a sales pitch. If you continue to write informative editorials you will be able to build a sense of reciprocity in your readers that may lead them to support you by buying your products.

4 Secrets To Increasing Your Affiliates’ Sales Efforts
If you’re selling a product, you need to offer an affiliate program. Your affiliates can drive an enormous amount of motivated traffic to your website. Because you’re only paying them when they generate a sale (or 100 sales!), there’s no cost of producing the increased revenue. The problem is that most affiliates do not
generate many sales. For example, you may have 500 affiliates, but only 10 of them are actively promoting your product. Today, I’m going to give you 4 secrets to motivating your affiliates to increase their sales efforts.
#1 – Offer Tiered Commissions
Give your productive affiliates a larger commission than those who have yet to generate a give level of sales. Not only does this build loyalty among your affiliate base, but it motivates unproductive affiliates to promote your product more actively. For example, imagine that you sell a DVD training course for $197. You might offer a 35% commission on your affiliates’ first 5 sales, 45% commission on the next 5 sales, and 60% on every sale they generate after that.
#2 – Hold Performance-Based Contests
Your affiliates are primarily motivated by money. You can spur them to immediate action by organizing a contest with cash prizes awarded based upon their sales. Here’s how it can work: Imagine that you’re selling a product for $47. You normally give your affiliates a 50% commission. However, for the next 10 days, you’ll offer a 60% commission. Plus, the affiliate who generates the highest number of sales during those 10 days will receive an additional $200 check.
Depending upon the size of your affiliate base, the jolt in activity can drive hundreds of extra sales for your product.
#3 – Give Them A Toolbox
The easier you can make your affiliates’ job, the more active they’ll be in promoting your product. This goes far beyond giving them e-book covers and banners. Provide a toolbox with promotional emails, pay-per-click keywords, and ads. Give them small PDF reports with their affiliate links embedded within that they can give freely to their audience. For affiliates using search engine optimization strategies, provide articles that are focused on your main keywords. The more tools you can provide them, the more likely they’ll send their audience to your website.
#4 – Organize A Launch
Entire training courses have been created to teach people how to effectively organize a product launch. It is one of the most powerful marketing strategies you can use. And the success of your launch is largely upon the shoulders of your affiliates. It begins with building a buzz about your product. At the same time, you need to be in constant contact with your affiliate base, letting them know about the date you’re planning to launch.
As the buzz around your product builds, so does the excitement in your affiliates. When you finally release your product, you give your affiliates the green light. I’ve seen such launches generate over 1,000 sales in the first 24 hours.
Free, Motivated Traffic
Your affiliates hold a potent key to generating large waves of free traffic that is motivated to make a buying decision. If you’re selling your own product and have yet to offer an affiliate program, you’re not harnessing your product’s sales potential. If you already offer a program, use the 4 tips above to jump start your affiliates’ sales efforts.
In the near future, I’ll explain how you can create ongoing momentum in your affiliates’ promotional activity. Stay tuned.

What is a Good Affiliate Program?
A great affiliate program can make the difference between making pennies and making a lot of good income from your affiliate recommendations. This is especially true if you are new to affiliate marketing and need a little hand-holding and support to get you started.
Here are three quick starter tips to get you started on the right start.
A rock solid product:
It’s best if you’ve had a chance to experience the product you are considering promoting first hand. This is often much easier with inexpensive e-books and other products with a low price point. If you can’t afford a product that you’d really like to promote, don’t be shy about asking the affiliate manager for a review copy. You may not always get a positive response, but it’s worth it to ensure your recommendations are always solid.
A Great reputation
Do make a practice of being meticulous in researching the products and companies you plan to suggest. A quick search should ensure that the products you are taking into account have a solid reputation for quality and customer service. You don’t want to erode the trust that others have placed in you by recommending those with doubtful histories. If it’s a new product or company, and you’re new to affiliate marketing, it’s likely best to pass unless you have a personal connection to the founders that assures you of their integrity.
Do they provide more than just a link to a sales page to help you promote the product?
A sales page might be a fine start if you’re an knowledgeable affiliate marketer, but most newcomers need more promotion resources. Look for programs that provide you with graphics, sample emails, reprint articles and special reports. In other words, look for programs that provide marketing support and resources.

How to build passive income on the internet
Anyone and everyone that comes to the internet looking for a way of making money online mainly has the same intention of selling something physical or on eBay for example. as the only way to make money online. However few fail to realize that many online and a lot of internet marketer are making a full time income through passive income.
Well what is passive income you might ask?
Passive income is anyway to make money online that requires you to put in the work one time only through different methods and over time continually being able to see the fruits of all your hard work come from that one method. There are many ways online now to make passive income. And this is something that is great for anyone that does not have a lot time to invest in a product business and want to get started right away with something.
Building a passive income online however takes time and does require some work. So don’t think that if you throw up a site that they will come because it never works that way. It takes persistence and knowledge to know exactly what market you are going to promote and exactly what will sell.
To begin with there are quite a few ways to make passive income online in any market and some of the ways to do so include.
- Affiliate marketing- affiliate marketing includes selling other peoples products on your site w/ text links and mentions in your blogs posts and email etc to your subscriber base. This method does takes time however many have set up complete sites with nothing but mentions of other companies products for a commission.
