If you are like many others that are thinking of starting your online business and you are ready to take that leap and establish your presence on the web. Then you might be wondering how you can go about creating your own website. However when the thought of price and budget come into mind you probably wanted to just stop all together.

With the economy the way that is and many offline businesses are hurting, you can find relief that online business and how to start a blog for money onlinesales have gone up by almost 15% in the last year alone. People are starting to trust the internet enough with technological advances and more exposure to it that they are now willing to rake over the cash for products and information.

Even if you are just wanting to start a site to express who you are and your personality you can even make money by referring products on a time to time to basis.

Well how do you start this endeavor with out incorporating all the cost!

For one I recommend that you start by using Wordpress. Wordpress is a free open program that you can use to create sites and publish your own content; you can use Wordpress.com to sign up for a free account and start publishing content.

Another one that you can use is blogspot.com another free blog platform. However I have to warn you that although you are able to sign up for these free content publishing platforms for free once the content is up there. You do not own the site or the content it belongs to that publishing platform.

You are basically just borrowing space to put your ideas.

You are also limited in how different you can change the design atmosphere of your blog limiting your own creative juices and you are also limited in the amount of plugins that you can add to your site decreasing the overall functionality of the blog.

The first thing that I recommend that you do If you are ready to start a Wordpress blog is to get your own domain name with your own hosting. When you have your own hosting that is cpanel enabled you are able to have total control over all the backend of your own blog.

This will give you all control over the look and feel of your blog and also the ability to change settings and programs as you see fit.

Now that you are ready to start your Own Blog Lets Begin.

The first thing you need to do is get a domain name with your keywords placed in your domain name. This will give your site more relevancy and help to increase your search engine ranking in the long run.

For more information on keyword research please read:  Search Engine Optimization for Dummies

The next thing is to get hosting for your domain name and the one that I highly recommend and use myself Is Hostgator. You are able to host an unlimited amount of domains under one account saving you money in the long run. Hostgator is already cpanel enabled which means that it comes with Wordpress already for you in the back-end to set up with a few clicks of the mousse.

You Can Get Unlimited Domain Hosting Only $9.95 a Month by Clicking here with Hostgator.

Then you will see why besides being friendly to the budget, Wordpress offers many additional free opportunities to grow your business. With nearly limitless plugins available and the list growing daily, you can customize your site to include classifieds, blogs, job posts, product sales, contact forms, instant chat capabilities, and RSS feeds.

Further you can incorporate tools to analyze your site and capture important data including number of hits, site popularity and more. The possibilities for what a site designed with Wordpress is capable of are endless

Haiti Earthquake Disaster – Please Help

January 14th, 2010

This may be off topic from the blog, but with all the devastating news of the Haiti earthquake that has brought so much pain and agony to that small nation.  It is time like these when we need to stick together and work as one to help out those less fortunate than we are.  I looked around today and was wondering all the ways that I can help out because God knows that if I could be there I would right now helping out.

I have been able to come up with tons of clothes that will soon go over there and working on getting some first aid kits that could be used anything would help.  When I went to put my son to bed last night I took a moment and was paused looking at him while he was sleeping, and a feeling of pain and thankfulness set in all at the same time.  Thinking about all those mothers out there who have lost their children, all those children with no where to sleep no food or even water my heart goes out over and over again.

Painful to see and watch to say the least…..

Well my Great Friend Brain Mcelroy has a great Documentary on the people of Haiti and If you would like to help and buy a copy of the film 100% of all the proceeds will go to the people of Haiti.

Many don’t have a lot to give some have much please find a way to donate even if it a little can of food.

My thoughts and prayers are with them.

5 Keys To Becoming A Successful Blogger

Becoming a Successful Blogger

Today, let’s take a break from information marketing, autoresponder sequences, search engine optimization strategies, and squeeze pages. Instead, let’s return to blogging.

As you know, there’s no shortage of bloggers. It’s unclear how many blogs exist, but Technorati reported over 100 million back in 2007. It’s safe to say that number has grown. The problem is that most bloggers never break out of their small circle and make money. That’s a shame. Blogging is one of the most important tools at your disposal for generating an online income.

Today, I’m going to reveal 5 keys to becoming a successful blogger. If you’re already blogging and have wondered why you’re not able to gain traction and build momentum, use the following list as a litmus test.

#1 – Authenticity

You want your readers to trust you. In fact, being able to cultivate that trust is the only way you’ll be able to draw people to you over the long run. I’ve seen many bloggers post wonderful information about cars, electronics, relationships, and more, yet lack a personal flavor in their writing.         success blogging keys 5 Keys To Becoming A Successful Blogger

When people read your posts, they want to get a sense of you. They want to know what you’re about. That’s why John Reese, Jimmy Brown, and other marketers who blog can generate enormous interest. They’re authentic.

#2 – High-Quality Blog Posts

Being a blogger is partly about selling yourself to your readers. While authenticity is critical, you also need to give your readers something valuable to chew on. One without the other is a recipe for failure.

For example, suppose you blog about information products and earn an affiliate commission for each sale. You’re not going to convince any of your readers to buy the products unless you provide them with a thorough review.

“Value” doesn’t have to mean information. It can come in the form of humor, creativity, or sheer playfulness. If your unique key1 5 Keys To Becoming A Successful Bloggerreaders find your posts entertaining, you’ll be a hit. For instance, I’ve mentioned dooce.com in the past. Its blogger, Heather, has a massive following who look forward to her entertaining posts. So loyal are her readers that her blog generates enough money through advertising for her to work on it full-time.

Remember, quality attracts attention.

#3 – Post A Photo Of Yourself

Sounds simple enough, right? A picture of yourself goes a long way toward drawing your readers in and gaining their trust. Yet, I stumble on blogs every day that lack a photo of the blogger.

Post a picture of yourself on your blog. It doesn’t need to be a professional shot. Any photo will strengthen the connection you share with your readers.

#4 – Promote Your Blog

You’ll need to get the word out about your blog if you hope to build a large readership. The only way to do that is through marketing and promotion.

I’ve mentioned guest blogging in the past. That’s a powerful way to attract readers because you’ll gain exposure to the host blog’s readership and you’ll gain valuable links back to your blog. But, don’t stop there. Commenting on blogs, participating in social media, and even advertising on popular blogs in your market can bring a lot of readers quickly.

Exposure is the currency of blogging.

Consider:

#5 – Learn To Communicate

Being able to write well is important if you plan to be a successful blogger. But, communicating with your audience goes far beyond good writing. You need to be able to “get through” to your readers with a writing style they find engaging.

Sometimes, that means violating rules of grammar. Like this. Other times, it means using a turn of phrase to drive a point home (for example, put a little elbow grease into your marketing or you’ll be back to square one). The goal is to connect with your readers. And that requires being able to communicate with them.

You’ll notice that I didn’t mention the types of products you should promote on your blog to generate an income. The fact is, blogging can support nearly every type of online business imaginable. You can promote your own information products or membership sites. You can review affiliate products, market your services, or build your authority as a professional speaker.

If you’re not blogging, now’s the time to start. You’ll find that once your blog gains traction and builds a readership, it can generate an impressive online income.

5 Secrets Of Creating Squeeze Pages That Convert

5 Secrets Of Creating Squeeze Pages That Convert

If you’re not building email lists, you’re leaving money on the table. This is true whether you’re driving traffic with search engine optimization strategies, operating membership sites, or promoting affiliate programs. Even if you’re running a network of content sites for Adsense revenue, email lists can catapult your income. The question is, what is squeeze page 5 Secrets Of Creating Squeeze Pages That Convertthe most effective way for getting people to opt into your lists?

The answer: squeeze pages.

Squeeze pages have one simple task. They are designed to entice people to provide their contact information. Once you have permission to email them, you can drive a consistent volume of traffic to your sites, blogs, social media accounts, and sales pages. Today, I’ll give you the 5 most important keys to creating squeeze pages that will convert your visitors into subscribers.

#1 – Eliminate Distractions And Leaks

Every element of your squeeze page either helps or hampers your goal of persuading your visitor to provide his or her email address. That’s the litmus test.

Your headline, copy, photos, and testimonials must support the conversion process. If they don’t, get rid of them. A lot of marketers create squeeze pages that are too long and filled with unnecessary distractions. Even too many testimonials can reduce your opt-in conversion rate.

Get rid of every distraction. Eliminate outbound links that take people off your squeeze page without their opting in. You can see a great example at Facebook.com. They’re using a simple squeeze that has been responsible for attracting millions of members.

#2 – Mirror Proven Templates

There are many successful sites that have been using the same squeeze page for years. The reason is because the format of those pages is so effective for driving conversions. For example, Eben Pagan’s doubleyourdating.com went largely unchanged for nearly five years. While Pagan hasn’t admitted it publicly (as far as I know), the reason he changed it might be due to his squeeze page being adopted in dozens of other niches.

If you notice a successful marketer or company using the same squeeze over a long period, adopt the page and test it.

#3 – Create An Irresistible Offer

Believe it or not, people used to willingly provide their email addresses simply to receive a weekly e-zine. Those days are long gone. Today, you need to offer something of value to persuade your visitors to subscribe to your list.

Special reports in PDF format are an ideal fit because information has a high-perceived value in nearly every niche. A series of video tutorials can also work well in some niches. Even free access to tools and calculators can seal the deal with your visitors.

Bottom line: create an offer and make it irresistible. And that leads perfectly into the fourth key of squeeze pages.

#4 – Sell The Opt-In Through Emotion

Suppose you’re in the weight loss niche and have written a 10-page special report to lure people onto your email list. It’s not enough to tell visitors “sign up and I’ll give you my 10-page report.” You need to sell the free report. And if you can inject emotion into the appeal, you’ll see your squeeze page’s conversion rate soar.

Consider the emotional triggers that prompt people to take action. They love bargains. They love secrets that help them accomplish a desired goal. And they don’t want to miss out on anything. Let’s use those three triggers in our weight loss special report. Rather than “sign up and I’ll give you my 10-page report,” let’s use the following appeal…

“Receive My Top 10 Jealously-Guarded Secrets For Easily Losing Weight During The Holidays. Absolutely Free For The Next 37 Subscribers!”

That sells the opt-in and your free report through an emotional appeal.

#5 – Tell The Visitor To Subscribe

I’ve saved the most important key for last.

The success of your squeeze pages depends on your telling visitors to opt into your lists. Commands have enormous psychological power. For example, have you ever held out an item to a friend and said, “Hold this for a second.” Chances are, your friend complied without even realizing he or she was doing it.

The people who visit your squeeze pages will react to your instructions in the same way. Be clear and tell them exactly what to do (for example, “type your name and email address below and click “Subscribe.”).

As I’ve mentioned in the past, email lists can have a dramatic effect on the income you generate from your online businesses. The challenge is to get people to join your lists. If you put the 5 keys above into action, you’ll find your squeeze page conversion rates will climb.

I Recommend that if you would like to use squeeze pages or minisites, etc. .. That you use Wendy Wood’s GetEcovers she offers immuculate work with a quick turn around.

The Online Marketer’s 3-Minute Guide To Leveraging Link Bait

December 1st, 2009

Guide To Leveraging Link Bait

Search engine optimization is still one of the best strategies for driving free, targeted traffic to your websites. As you know, a large part of getting your sites ranked for your main keywords is to attract inbound links. This is where link bait link bait The Online Marketers 3 Minute Guide To Leveraging Link Baitcan give you a major advantage.

In ultra-competitive niches, building links is almost like an arms race. The main players monitor each other’s sites and mine the same fields looking for sites that will link to them. Even in less-competitive niches, the majority of online marketers use the same resources to build incoming links.

You can gain a huge edge in your niche by creating link bait content that has the potential to go viral. It done properly, it’s one of the most powerful search engine optimization strategies at your disposal. Today, I’ll explain why link bait is so potent and give you a few ideas to spark your creativity in jumpstarting your own link bait program.

Why Link Bait Is Such A Powerful SEO Tool

Link bait is any piece of content that entices people to link to your site – the more links, the better. Most people think the strategy is effective because it attracts a high volume of inbound links. But, that’s only part of the equation. The reason link bait is powerful is more complex. If you understand the “why,” you can trump (outrank) your competition.

The search engines reduced the value of link popularity (the number of links pointing to you) in their algorithms years ago. Today, they judge your site’s ranking worthiness by your link profile. Think of your profile as your reputation in the eyes of Google. They want to know what others think of your site, and the only way they can determine that is by noting who links to you.

Your inbound link profile includes the range of domains and IPs that point toward your site. The broader the range, the better. The authority of each domain that points to you is also important. That authority is based largely on the links pointing to them. For example, a link from CNN.com is more authoritative than a link from my-furniture-affiliate-site.com.

When you create link bait content that goes viral, it attracts incoming links from a wide range of sites. Bloggers will post about your content; readers will submit your page to bookmarking sites; links will begin popping up on forums, social media sites, and even news media sites. If your link bait really goes viral, you’ll enjoy a groundswell of momentum that builds on itself. In other words, the more people who link to your bait, the more exposure you’ll enjoy and the more links you’ll attract.

Crafty Link Bait Ideas To Lure Inbound Links

Now that you understand why link bait can be so powerful for your search engine rankings, let’s explore a few ideas thatlink bait2 The Online Marketers 3 Minute Guide To Leveraging Link Bait you can unleash for your sites.

Link bait can take the form of high-value information, helpful tools (on-site or downloads), breaking news, entertainment, and controversy. There’s a lot of opportunity in that mixed bag…

High-Value Information: Create a high-quality Special Report and post it on your site, rather than offering it as a PDF download. Try to include resources that readers will find useful. For example, take a look at Aaron Wall’s searchenginehistory.com. High-value information can also include analysis, such as Danny Sullivan’s study on email services a few years ago.

Helpful Tools: Useful tools are always effective as link bait. The phenomenal success of Firefox is a great example. You can also hire programmers to create on-site calculators, social media widgets, and even browser and Wordpress plugins.

Breaking News: Breaking news is a hard nut to crack as link bait. That said, if you can manage to scoop everyone in your niche, the results can be explosive. Matt Drudge did it by reporting on the Monica Lewinsky scandal. TMZ seems to do it on a daily basis. Scandal, new software releases, and even breaking product reviews can attract a wide range of links quickly.

Entertainment: theonion.com is a perfect example of how to use link bait to attract incoming links through entertainment. Another example is the success of Heather Armstrong’s dooce.com. You can also post funny interviews, videos, and even creative blogs as link bait. For example, chetthedog.com is a blog from the perspective of a dog. I’ve also seen blogs written from the perspective of babies and even suitcases taken on travels around the world.

Controversy: Nothing gets people riled up more than controversy around a favored topic. I’ve listed this strategy last for a reason: it can be dangerous. For example, if you post a derogatory blog about someone in your industry, you might attract a large number of links, but you can also damage your reputation. If you intend to take this route for your link bait content, tread very carefully.

Link bait is a powerful way to get your sites ranked in the search engines. The good news is that few, if any, of your competitors are taking the time to do it. Their neglect leaves the road clear for you to attract a wide range of authoritative links to your sites.

Anatomy Of An Autoresponder Sequence That Generates Results

Autoresponder Sequences That Generates Results

If you’re on a lot of email lists, you’ve seen firsthand how badly email marketing is handled. Even some of the marketing “gurus” get it wrong. Either they pummel their lists with an endless stream of promotions or they neglect to mail their lists at all. In the former case, their unsubscribe rate skyrockets. In the latter case, their lists fail to generate any revenue.

There’s a much better way.

I’ve explained in the past how to use autoresponder sequences to drive traffic to your email sequence Anatomy Of An Autoresponder Sequence That Generates Resultswebsites. Today, we’re going to dig more deeply and take a look at the anatomy of a successful sequence. I’m not going to provide a day-by-day recipe because every niche is different. Instead, you’ll discover the key ingredients that will have your readers looking forward to your emails. And that’s the secret to generating clicks, sales, and affiliate commissions.

Deliver High-Caliber Value Upfront

When someone opts into your sequence, they expect to receive something of value. This is a critical stage and will influence how that person perceives all of your future messages. If you fail to meet her expectations, you’ll lose credibility. She’ll unsubscribe or worse, ignore your future emails. If you give her something of value, you’ll earn her trust. She’ll keep reading your emails… for awhile.

Imagine what would happen if you were to exceed her expectations and deliver a series of emails that are packed with so much value, you could bundle and sell them as an ebook. You would earn her trust for months. She would read your emails, click your links, and consider buying the products you’re promoting.

Front-load each of your email sequences with five to seven messages that are overflowing with value. No promotions. Only value. The time you invest will pay dividends later through your subscribers’ loyalty.

Leave Readers Wanting More

Have you heard marketers complaining that their email open and clickthrough rates have dropped like a rock? Here’s why: they’re failing to excite their subscribers. Lacking a reason to open their emails, subscribers ignore or delete them. The emails in your autoresponder sequences should always leave your readers wanting more. Stimulate their curiosity so they’ll look forward to, and open, your messages.

If you’re using an autoresponder like Aweber, you’ll have the tools you need at your disposal. You can personalize each message and schedule them to go out whenever you wish.

Here’s an example of how to use your sequence to generate excitement in your subscribers…

Suppose you’re targeting the “weight loss” niche. You have a squeeze page or similar opt-in strategy in place to attract names and emails. You schedule a message to go out that shares a weight loss tip with your subscribers. Two days later, another email is scheduled to go out. Imagine if the first of the two messages ended with, “Melissa, in a couple of days, I’m going to share a secret that I used to lose 17 lbs. in only 22 days. Keep your eyes open for that email. You’re going to love it.”

In two days’ time, when “Melissa” receives your message, she’s going to open it. In fact, she’ll put aside whatever she’s working on to open it.

Stimulate excitement. Prep your subscribers. Always leave them wanting more from you.

Mix It Up And Sell The Click

Think of the different ways you can entice subscribers who have opted into your email sequences. You can promise to send them Special Reports, videos, and audio interviews. Each of these is an email click1 Anatomy Of An Autoresponder Sequence That Generates Resultsopportunity to motivate your subscribers to click a link.

That small action gets them involved. It transforms them from passive readers into active participants. And that’s when the sales process begins.

For example, suppose you have promised to send your subscribers a secret weight loss tip in 3 days. They’re expecting the tip to be included within the email. Instead, schedule a message to go out that says, “Melissa, remember that secret weight loss tip I promised you 3 days ago? Well, there’s a lot to it, so I put it into a 7-page Special Report for you. Click the following link to get your PDF. I think you’ll enjoy it.”

This tactic works just as effectively to drive traffic to videos, audio content, and pages on your site that are “hidden from the public.” It also works to send sequence subscribers to product sales pages. Get them involved. Mix up your content and sell the click.

Autoresponder sequences are a powerful tool. Make sure you’re providing high-caliber value upfront and that you do everything possible to stimulate the curiosity and response of your subscribers.

I have two more tips about sequences that you’re going to need in order to maximize their impact. I’ll share them with in the near future.  (See what I did there?)

P.S. You should give Aweber A Trial Run it is Only $1.00 to give them a Test drive. I use Aweber for all of my sites.  —–Aweber

4 Ways To Leverage PLR Content To Grow Your Online Empire

November 11th, 2009

Private label rights (PLR) content has lost a bit of luster due to fears about the search engines’ duplicate content filters. To borrow a quote from Mark Twain, reports of duplicate content filters are greatly exaggerated. We’ll leave the reasons why (along with glaring examples) for another leverage content 4 Ways To Leverage PLR Content To Grow Your Online Empirepost.

Today, I’m going to give you four powerful ideas for using PLR content to expand your online business. You’ll notice from the list below that only one of the strategies has anything to do with the search engines. All of them address your audience’s insatiable desire for high-quality information.

With that in mind, let’s get our creative juices flowing.

#1 – Email Sequences And E-courses

Email sequences and e-courses are fantastic marketing tools because they’re automated. Once you load them into your autoreponder, each message is sent out automatically according to whatever schedule you’ve set. The problem is, writing each message takes time, especially if your sequence or e-course is long.

High-quality PLR content is an ideal solution. It lets you avoid writing the individual messages and saves an enormous amount of time. That means you’ll be able to create sequences and e-courses for several markets simultaneously. Imagine having sequences on foreclosures, quilting, dieting, and arthritis chugging along on autopilot – each of them promoting affiliate products. What would having dozens of sequences do for your online income?

#2 – Network Of Content Sites

A lot of marketers launch small sites to generate Adsense revenue. Their thinking goes something like this: “If a single site can earn $5 a day, 20 sites will make $100 a day. And 100 sites will make…” And then, they go on to write the content (or hire others to do it) for their hundreds of sites.

First, writing that volume of material would take a small army of people. Second, search engines like sites that grow. That means you’ll need to feed your sites an ongoing diet of content.

Again, PLR material comes to the rescue. You can raise a batch of niche sites in a single afternoon. If you’re using Wordpress as the backend CMS, you can even schedule your posts. And while Adsense is a good way to make money online, your content sites can be put to much better use. They can function as “feeder” sites that link to your “money” sites (more on this in the future).

Here is a list of some very high quaitly Private Label Content sites that you could use to produce content for your site:

Easy Plr- Is my personal favorite and they offer topics in different niches from marketing, cooking, health, personal development and they even have e-courses and special reports that you could use.

Yummy Plr- is another great private label content site that you could get plr on cooking, recipes for any holiday and list continues to go on.

All private label content – is a great one that offers memberships on just about any niche from internet marketing plr to very focused niches in health.

Natural Mom Plr- Is great if you have natural product related sites that range anywhere from green living and natural parenting and natural living private label content.

Plr Food Content- Is another based around the food niche and cooking and recipes.

Special report club- Would be great if you are looking to supply you site with fresh reports and comes stocked with blog posts and articles ready to go.

Niche Content – A great one that also gives a large variety of private label content that you could use for your site, blog or whatever.

#3 – Information Products

Writing an ebook or report is usually a time-intensive project that takes a healthy dose of patience and diligence. Depending on its size, completing it can take weeks, even months. PLR content can eproducts 4 Ways To Leverage PLR Content To Grow Your Online Empirehelp in a few ways. First, use the material to fill the bulk of your information product and sprinkle your own thoughts along the way. Second, use it for occasional chapters to add heft to your own content. Third, batch a group of related articles together to form a free report; place links throughout your report that encourage readers to buy your ebook.

#4 – Membership Sites

In some markets, membership sites can survive almost entirely on PLR content (as long as the material is high-quality). This is especially true if you’re using a very low price point or a pricing structure based on lifetime access.

Personally, I would only suggest using PLR material as a supplement to unique content for your membership sites. Having said that, the material makes it relatively simple to launch and maintain several of them at the same time.

A quick side note: everything that I’m sharing with you today is under the assumption that the PLR content you’re using is high-quality. There are a lot of people selling material. Some of it reads as if it were written by folks who have a “less than perfect” grasp of the English language. Make sure the content you use is good, even if that means paying a few dollars extra. You’ll find that it’s well worth it in the long run.
