Summer is a great time to sit back and relax and spend time with your family. Thinking about business is the last thing that should be on your mind. You probably feel that summer is to slow and that you can’t really do anything to grow your business

We’ll I have to disagree and say learning how to grow your business over the summer is the one thing that will help to keep you motivated.

Giving yourself the tools you need to push forward fast and full of great information. I am constantly learning and summer is one of the times that I do most of my learning being that I am more relaxed and can absorb more information that will only help me and help to grow my business.

Facebook Page Changes

If you have not already heard about the recent changes that facebook has taken to keep up with the changes in social media. Then you are in for a rude awakening, below is a video that you should view. It explains in great detail about the coming changes and those that have already taken place to facebook.

Learning to brand yourself in whatever business that you are in is a must since it will help to give your online business presence and a boost. Being that twitter is becoming a huge force to be reckoned with in social marketing and conversation territory , facebook had to step its game up and has done so in a big way. Whether or not this will pay off in the long run is up for debate. However, never be the one to sit in on the sideline and watch the action happen, be prepared to jump first and see if your efforts will pay off.

How To Find A Web Graphic Designer

Looking for web graphic designer and a great one at that can be just as difficult as winning a million dollar paycheck. Yes, they are out there and finding the right ones or one can take a whole lot of patience, and diligence. However, learning to a find a great web graphic designer is quite easy- if you know where to look.

Begin by asking friends, family and business with websites that you admire with great graphics. Unless they did their graphics themselves they had to have hired a freelance graphic designer. Referrals are the best place to find a great graphic designer. However know that great graphic designers are like great babysitters in that once you’ve found one you may be reluctant to share them with others since that may mean they’ll be unavailable for you. Your friends and associates may hold out on you even if they do know a great designer.

Visit websites you like with graphics that seem to catch your eye and impress you.

Many websites will use the same graphic designer for all their design needs. That means designers that do logos may also create website graphics. Often, at the bottom of a website you’ll see the website creator and/or graphic designer listed. It’s usually a link - click on it and visit their website. View their portfolio and if everything looks good, give them a call or send them an email to set up a consultation or purchase one of their website items.

Visit professional graphic design associations. Every vocation has a number of associations to belong to and graphic design is no different. Participation in these associations isn’t a guarantee that the designer is spectacular however it is a good place to start. Two main organizations are:

- The Graphic Artists Guild - www.gag.org
- The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) - www.aiga.org

Once you have a few names to check out, it’s time to compare. While price may be at the top of your priority list, it’s important to also view their portfolio. A creative graphic logo and design can cost less but if poorly designed. It could cost you traffic and customers in the long run. I always go for quality over anything else because it will pay off ten fold in the end.

Evaluate their terms, professionalism and the systems they have in place to make sure they understand your needs and the image you’re trying to project. Some graphic designers will speak to you on the phone while others have a form they’ll have you fill out. If a designer never asks about the image you want Or any questions at all for your material - find a different designer.

Make sure you get the terms in writing. The terms of your agreement should include payment terms, revisions, and how you’re expected to communicate. While these may seem like small details they can make all the difference between a great relationship with your graphic designer and a substandard experience.

Make sure you use all the tools you need to get started and on the right track.
