Some of the most common reasons why teleseminars fail are listed below. Do all you can to avoid making similar mistakes the next time you host a teleseminar. Here’s how.

•Providing incorrect date and time: By giving potential registrants incorrect time and date, you are ensuring that there will be no one to listen or view your teleseminar. This is the most common reason for many teleseminars to fail.

•Providing incorrect dial-in number or website URL: Many times the registration page does not provide the correct information as to where registrants should log on for the teleseminar. Nearly all registrants will note down the details somewhere at the time of registration and if the information provided is wrong, your teleseminar will fail.

•Not sending reminders: People are busy and can forget the time, date, website URL or the dial-in number. Make sure you set up a series of emails using a reliable autoresponder to remind all the registrants about the teleseminar.

•Not providing a learning guide: Have some sort of information guide that can work as a roadmap for the teleseminar. It should contain precise information as to what potential participants can learn when they take part in the teleseminar. It should be persuasive enough to get people to register.

By being aware of what could go wrong you have a greater chance of doing all that can go right.

Most site owners seem to approach traffic generation without grasping the true potential of their marketing strategies. We’re going to change that today.

Before we get started, let’s set our expectations properly. There’s no possible way we can cover the entire range of marketing strategies that can drive traffic to your site. It can’t be done in 1 article. But, we’re going to take it one step further. Below, I’m going to give you a bird’s eye view of the most effective internet marketing strategies you can use to generate traffic. For each tactic, I’ll provide links to 1 or 2 of the best resources available to learn, master, and apply the strategies. In time, this will become your ultimate “how to” guide for increasing your website traffic.

Let’s get started.

  • Guide To One-Way Link-Building – a thorough treatment of pursuing the right kind of links and their cumulative effect on your website’s search engine rankings.

Link Bait Creation

Link bait is exactly as it sounds: you create content that baits others into linking to your site. That can mean developing an interactive credit card payment calculator, a controversial political view, or an entertaining video. The idea is simple: get people to notice and motivate them to link. Ideally, this strategy should be a part of your inbound link-building program, but it deserves its own mention. Here are 2 resources for learning the link-baiting craft:

  • Link Bait Primer – this blog post provides a good overview of the topic from Matt Cutts, a high-profile Google engineer. Start here before moving to advanced link bait tactics.

Autoresponder Sequences

Getting people to visit your site is only 1 part of the traffic generation formula. You need those visitors to return to your site over and over. If you leave the matter to them, it won’t happen. But, if you can persuade your visitors to sign up for an autoresponder sequence, you can drive them back to your site on a predictable schedule. Read the following page to learn the strategy and how to apply it:

  • Autoresponder Flowchart – a top-down look at the entire process of encouraging people to subscribe to your sequence and delivering compelling messages that drive them back to your site.

Social Networking And Media

Social networking has become a powerful buzzword over the past few years. It’s a maturing strategy to develop traffic to your site and is bound to change dramatically over the next 12 months. Here are 4 resources that will give you a comprehensive blueprint to leveraging the technique:

PPC Campaigns

Eventually, your search engine optimization strategies, autoresponder sequences, link bait, and other free traffic generation techniques will be sending you a growing stream of visitors. To continue building the stream, launch small, ultra-targeted PPC campaigns. Doing so requires an investment, but if you know your metrics, you’ll be able to deploy this strategy and enjoy a positive ROI. Here are 2 reliable PPC resources:

  • Designing Effective PPC Campaign Strategies – don’t let the date (circa 2005) dissuade you from reading this article. The author discusses PPC strategy from a long-term perspective that is not only still viable today, but critical.

Product Development With An Affiliate Program

Here’s a potent internet marketing strategy that 99% of all site owners neglect. Once you’ve developed a traffic generation program using all of the tactics described above, your website (or blog) will be receiving a continuous stream of readers and fans. If you develop a product and attach an affiliate program to it that allows your visitors to make money by promoting you, it can turn your traffic stream into a river. Here’s a great resource for launching your affiliate program:

  • How To Start An Affiliate Program - a tutorial by Allan Gardyne, an affiliate program authority. It was written in 2004, but contains a mountain of useful information about creating your own program.

Long Tail Niche Marketing

Long Tail Marketing

If you are thinking about having a small business, or already have one, you’ll want to use every avenue at your disposal to increase business. The newest frontier for business is the Internet. Each year, someone comes up with a new way to enhance business in this area. One strategy to try is long tail niche marketing.

The concept of long tail niche marketing uses multiple keyword phrases to target traffic to your site and increase business. By adding words to the phrase, the person searching will have to be quite specific in their words in order to find you.

Long tail niche marketing is another way to increase your standing in the page ranks on popular search engines. Anyone who has used SEO content and keywords on their website pages knows that everyone fights for the first page of results. Most people don’t look beyond that; if it is not found on the first page, the chances of you being discovered drop.

A business can benefit in a number of ways from long tail niche marketing strategies. For one, it saves time on other marketing campaigns. When we buy lists of names, the category that those names fall into is a broad one.

Let’s say that you are selling rafting equipment. A list may include people who live in states where white water rafting is a common sport. That would be a broad category. Everyone living in Colorado doesn’t go rafting. There are a lot of names on the list who won’t buy from you. Also, the list may exclude people who love to raft but don’t live in the geographic location of the list.

Marketing is a trial and error process, but we try to get as close to our target as possible. Employing more than one marketing strategy is best to overcome this learning curve. With longer keyword phrases, a person won’t just look for rafting in general, but can include other keywords like state, or type of rafting equipment they are looking for. The results for “rafting” may be in the millions, but the results for “rafting suppliers in Colorado Springs” can be in the thousands.

This marketing strategy directs the appropriate traffic to find your business. Visitors are more likely to buy because they are looking for your products. Creating a list from those who buy offers a solid base of customers to work with. From there, you can target specific products to customers. The possibilities are endless once you reach the right type of customers.

Long tail marketing does require that the right keyword phrases be used. The entire process is still used experimentally by Internet marketers. With a little research, you can create phrases that will bring in reliable new leads for future sales.

Web Advertising—-The Right Advertisers

internetmarketing Web Advertising Finding AdvertisersWeb advertising is a great way to get noticed and bring your site to the fore front a lot quicker. Then just waiting on the search engines, selling advertising on your website is a way to increase your website profits, but to keep them coming back on taking the call to action. It pays to invest some time in finding the right web advertisers.

You might ask who are the right online advertisers for your site?

The right advertisers are people and businesses which offer your customers and visitors a better user experience. They add value to your website. This means they’re complimentary to your site. Complimentary websites are those which compliment your business or add to the experience.

For example, if you sell coffee then a complimentary business might be a company which sells biscotti or gourmet coffee cream. Consider what your customer might need before and after they make a purchase from you.

Another example of a complimentary website might be if you own a nail supply business where you sell nails, nail design products would compliment your business nicely.

How to Use the Internet to Advertise, Promote and Market Your Business or Website with Little or No Money Web Advertising Finding Advertisers

Well how do you find the right internet advertisers?

If you have a blog or forums take a look at who your visitors are. Many of them might be website business owners who are perfect advertising candidates.

Check to see who is linking to you. You can use a number of link checking tools available online. SEO-Watch, Marketleap and Yahoo all offer tools which tell you who is linking to you. These websites may also be great potential advertisers.

What about sites you link to? Presumably there are websites in your industry you refer your customers and website visitors to, websites that offer great products or services and are not in direct competition with you. These are ideal websites to approach for potential advertising space.

Look for up and coming websites. Most new web businesses are hungry for traffic. While they may not be able to pay high advertising rates, they may be a great place to start. Once you can show larger businesses that advertising on your site will produce a substantial return on investment, you can demand higher advertising rates.

Next, look at the people who contact you. Many webmaster receive frequent communications from customers, visitors, and potential partners. Analyze each email to see if they are a potential advertiser too. They already know your business and have an interest in your products or services which makes them a likely candidate.

The right internet advertisers for your website are well worth a little effort on your part. When you find web advertisers who your customers and visitors are interested in you win because you offer a better customer experience and you reap profits from advertising on the internet.

How to Get Website Links

How to Get Website Links

Creating a winning website can take a lot of work and dedication to your website. You have to be able to set up your content management system if you’re using one, come up with an attractive layout, have graphics done, and fill it with content. If it’s an ecommerce site, you’ll need to set up a shopping cart and add pictures and product descriptions

Marketing the site is next step, because visitors are not likely to stumble onto your site by accident. And even if they did, there’s no guarantee that they would be interested in what you have to offer. Search engine optimization can help you get listed in Google and the others, but you also need to get links coming in from other websites if you want visitors.

Here are some reasons why:

* Links from relevant websites will bring you click-through traffic. It stands to reason that if someone visits a website with subject matter that is related to yours, they will likely be interested in what you have to offer.

* Links from other websites are seen as endorsements. In most cases, webmasters link to other sites because they like them or find them useful. Even in the case of link exchanges, few webmasters will trade links with a site they dislike. So when people see your link on someone else’s site, it looks like a vote of confidence.

* If you have a blog, incoming web links can get you increased visibility on sites such as Technorati. Technorati is a popular blog search engine and directory that ranks blogs by authority, a number that is directly connected to incoming links.

* Website links can help you get better rankings in standard search engines. When other sites link to a page on your site using a given keyword as anchor text, it helps you rank higher for that keyword. And the number of html links you receive from other sites helps your overall search engine positioning in the search engines.

Getting Web Links

Getting links to your website isn’t as difficult as you might think.

Here are some ideas:

* Link to your site from your social networking profiles such as twitter and facebook, and add links to your forum signatures.

* If you have other sites, link to your new site from them and place links with in your content of your site. From your own web pages of course.

* If you have an email newsletter, announce your new site to subscribers. If they like your other sites, they will probably visit, and they might choose to link to the new site on their own.

* Ask Bloggers you know to review your site and offer some sort of incentive for them linking to you.

* Email owners of related sites and ask if they would like to exchange links.

Incoming links can help you get your website noticed, and they can cut down on the need for paid marketing. These links can bring you both traffic and traffic from the search engines.

Reasons Twitter is a dominant Marketing Tool

Social networking is on the rise and one of the greatest quickest tools you can use in getting exposure for your site. It is a great way to get quick traffic to your site and build a loyal following of followers to you.

Whether you are just getting started with an online business or you have been around for a while and looking for a new way to network, have a look at Twitter. Here are 5 reasons Twitter is a powerful marketing tool for online business owners like you.

1. It’s Short, Sweet & To the Point
Have you ever heard the phrase, less is more? You’ll find that one of the best things about Twitter is that it keeps all messages very short and sweet. You’ll have to give your customers and clients the gist of what is going on in short tweets (messages similar to instant messages) that allow their interest to be piqued in such a way as to make them investigate further.

2. Urgency
Much like a blog or an RSS feed, you can get access to the people that use Twitter regularly. This is like making sure that you can reach them no matter where they are, and you will find that this is very important when you want to make marketing one of your biggest priorities. You are making sure that they have all of the latest updates to what you are doing and what’s going on by simply sending a tweet post their way.

3. Everyone’s Twittering and Customer Loyalty
In many ways, Twitter is a social program more than it is a marketing one, and you’ll find that using Twitter can help you feel a great deal closer to your client base and others in your online community. If you are looking to make sure that they see you as a person rather than as simply a company or service, you’ll find that Twitter encourages them to think of you as someone they can get to know. This can be very important when it comes to establishing a customer base and customer loyalty.

4. You are in the Now!
Remember that it goes both ways; you can put information out on Twitter and you can also learn a lot too. By following others Twitter accounts, especially if it looks like they have a lot to offer, you can keep in the know about various products, services, and other happenings online. This can be a great way to keep an eye on what is going on in order to keep yourself in the know of your industry.

5. Make Them Laugh
You can also use Twitter to tease people a little bit, in a fun way, of course! When you use Twitter, you have to keep your messages short, and in many ways, a little mysterious. Pique their interest, joke around, and you’ll find that you gain a lot more followers and hopefully website traffic and customers as a result.

Be warned, just as with any other social networking site, Twitter can quickly become addicting if you let it. Don’t go overboard and get so involved in all the tweeting that it takes away from your intended purpose (Social Marketing and Networking). Used wisely Twitter can be a great and powerful marketing tool to help create online business success for the long run
