Welcome back!

How To Use Email Sequences To Drive Website Traffic

Though you may not like to think about it… most of the people who visit your site won’t come back regularly. Some won’t come back at all. No matter how compelling your content, no matter how low a price you’re offering, most people are hardwired to forget whatever is not directly in front of them. This is one of the main reasons why successful marketers are using email sequences. They realize that their readers, customers, and occasional visitors need to be prompted back to their sites.

There’s a science to creating email sequences that compel your audience to return to your site. The proven email traffic How To Use Email Sequences To Drive Website Trafficmethods and techniques are beyond the scope of this post. We’ll explore them in more detail in the near future. Today, I’m going to clarify a few of the fundamental issues that prevent people from using email sequences.

Email Sequences Vs. Newsletters

First, I’ll explain the difference between email sequences and newsletters. Sequences are finite. They eventually end. You write them upfront, load them into your autoresponder, program the schedule, and they’re delivered without your intervention. Once your subscriber receives the last segment, the sequence stops. Newsletters require your ongoing effort. Whether weekly, biweekly, or monthly, you’ll need to write them until you decide to stop sending them.

So, which is better?

Ideally, you should use both. When visitors opt in, they should immediately first installment of your email sequence. That way, they won’t be forced to wait for your next newsletter. However, because your sequence will eventually end, you should also send a regular newsletter. It continues to build the relationship. Plus, by hitting your subscribers’ pressure points, you can send predictable surges of traffic back to your site.

Using Bait To Get The Opt-In

You’ve probably realized that it’s more difficult than ever to persuade your visitors to opt into anything that requires their email address. People are naturally protective of their email accounts. So, you’ll need to use bait. If you know your audience well, you’ll have already identified their marketing pressure points.

For example, imagine that you operate a site that sells golf clubs. One of your visitors’ pressure points might be a lack of confidence in buying the right club. You want them to opt-in to your email sequence in order to motivate them to return (otherwise, most of them will forget about your site). As bait for their email address, consider offering a short report titled, “7 Secrets You Must Know Before Buying The Right Golf Club.”

If your bait engages their marketing pressure point, it’ll be difficult for them to resist.

Getting Them Back To Your Site

Remember, the purpose of your email sequence is to prompt the return of a motivated visitor. Being motivated can include wanting to buy your product, promote your product through your affiliate program, or even comment on your blog. If you write the installments in a way that engages their pressure points, you can expect your visitors to return ready to take action.

Does this mean that you should lay aside your search engine optimization strategies and other traffic-generating techniques? Absolutely not. I’ve mentioned this before: each of the methods that you’ll learn here converge into a traffic machine. Email sequences are merely one cog in the system. They’re one of many effective marketing strategies.

In the future, we’re going to explore sequences in much more detail. I’ll give you some ideas for creating your own sequence that will grab your visitors’ attention and get them to return to your site. Stay tuned.

Long Tail Keywords

writingsmall High Paying KeywordsNiche marketing on the internet can get annoying at times. Looking for the finest information we want but hardly get the results we want. Or, we are on the Internet but no one is finding us. There is an option on solving this problem and it is really quite simple. That is where the using long tail keywords come into play or using long tail niche marketing. To draw highly targeted niche traffic to your site with high paying keywords.

What exactly is this concept of long tail niche marketing? When someone enters words into a search engine, they try to be as concise as possible. We’ve been taught that the fewer words we use, the more targeted our search and the better the results will be. This works most of the time, but the results are usually general. Using keywords and good keywords is the best thing to do for your content if you want to draw in the masses.

If you want to conduct a more detailed search, the option may be to use longer keyword phrases. People promoting their websites are trying to see if this is a useful technique. Using longer phrases targets the visitors to your blog or website business better than single keywords. Since single keywords are more general people searching for the term are competing with the same highly ranked terms. Therefore when the search is complete the same thing shows up.

Normally, it takes more than one or two words to find what you are looking for. Let’s say that you want to specifically know how to write articles for a mom’s natural living magazine. Entering keywords like “article writing” or “Natural living” may not get the targeted results you want. A few more words will have to be added to the keyword search.

Entering the phrase like, “writing articles for natural living mom’s magazine”. This phrase is longer but the results will be more exact if the person trying to attract your business is using long tail niche marketing strategies. They will optimize their content and web pages using the longer phrases that describe their niche. In that way, when these phrases are entered in the search, they will rank highly on the page of results. For that particular term or long tail keyword, this is called long tail niche marketing.

One or two word phrases are still the norm, but long tail niche marketing has a chance. For people who find it difficult to reach higher page ranks using one word keywords, this is an option that begs to be explored.

With Search engine optimization niche marketing, you’ll have to perform a bit of research to get the best results possible. Examine your keyword traffic. Use an analysis program like Google Keywords tool to determine the best keywords to use for your search. One way to get started with long tail niche marketing is to choose the most popular keywords and string them along to create a popular phrase. This is one technique that I use time and time again.

When using Keywords and long tail niche marketing, there is no way to be sure right now if you are using a good phrase without some trial and error

Long tail niche marketing involves using longer keyword phrases to drive traffic to your website. Targeted traffic is the best and in the end using high paying keyword phrases will reap your site the return in the end.

How to Find Broken Links

How to Find Broken links

A broken link, also known as a dead links and a URL links, is defined as a link which leads to an error page or a web page or server which is unavailable. While the occasional broken link may not seem like too much of a big deal all it takes is a single unchecked dead link to lose a customer.

A website visitor’s attention span is typically limited to about twenty seconds. If you can’t capture their attention in those first twenty seconds – click, they’re gone. They’re onto- your competition.

Now imagine you’ve done your job as a webmaster and captured the attention of a visitor. They’re reading your content and liking what they see. A link or button captures their attention, they click it and oops, there’s an error page. Some patient folks will go back to the page they were on and continue browsing however the majority will simply click away. You’ve lost them and any potential profits which may have been gleaned from their wallets.

Unfortunately most web site masters are completely unaware that their links are broken – dead. Many never even consider to check for broken links. What is an unaware webmaster to do?

Fortunately when there’s an issue on the internet, there are many people and companies who jump in to help you solve the problem. Dead links are no exception.

You can, of course, check all your links yourself. If you have a single page brochure site this is probably the best and most economical decision to make. You can click on each of your links on a monthly basis simply to make sure they’re still working. Perhaps you link to an order form, a map or even other websites. A few clicks and you’ll know whether your links are breathing or have kicked the bucket and need to be fixed.

However many websites have hundreds of pages, each with their own internal links. One broken link can break a very important chain. Checking a site like this manually can take way more time than you have. You could hire an administrative assistant to weed through page after page of links trusting that they’re not going to miss any or you can use one of the many dead link checkers available online. Most of these tools work by simply typing in your URL and generating a report. Depending on the size of your website this process can take anywhere from five seconds to five minutes, to find broken links. The result is a nice list of links to update.

Once you have a list of links to update, the sooner you can fix them the better. Remember, each dead link may be a lost customer. While it isn’t necessary to check for links weekly or even monthly it pays to schedule a quarterly broken link check into your calendar. All it takes is a few hot minutes and your website stays fresh and up to day.

How to build link Popularity by exchanging links.

Effective link building can offer website two main benefits. Incoming links increase your website traffic which of course means your conversions and sales increase. Incoming links also increase your search engine ranking because search engine spiders from all the search engines including MSN, Yahoo, and Google, all use incoming links as part of their ranking and indexing algorithm.

One of the most excellent and most popular ways to increase incoming links is to exchange links with other relevant and trustworthy websites. Relevancy and trustworthiness are both important not only to maintain and increase your own website integrity but also with search engine rankings. Links which come from websites which are relevant and trustworthy have more weight than non-relevant links.

So what is a relevant link? It’s a link which compliments or supplements your own site. It doesn’t compete with it. For example if you sell cloth diapers then a link from a site that sells nursing covers or an organic pillow company would be applicable. A link from a company that makes men’s shoes is not relevant to your site.

So now the big questions…how do you exchange links with a relevant site?

The first possibility is to contact the webmaster directly and ask if they will trade links with you. Make sure to follow through if they do link to you and check occasionally to make sure they’ve followed through with their end of the deal. It’s unprofessional to remove links after agreeing to however it does happen. Link strength can go down if the links are on the same page coming from each other. For example you have their link on the homepage and your link is on their home page. Try to have the links on different pages for Google to still count the link.

Another way to exchange links is to offer a link to us button on your website. Visitors can click on this button and receive html code for a variety of link types including text and banner. Make sure webmasters have a way to contact you to let you know they’ve linked to you so you can reciprocate.

If you’re approaching a webmaster to request a link exchange make sure you’ve done your homework and understand not only their website business but also the benefit of linking to you. Present it so they understand what’s in it for them. This is accomplished by understanding your target audience and theirs.

Be sure to also provide relevant data including daily website visitors and any visitor demographic information which may be applicable.

When handled correctly, link exchanges are a good way to increase your website traffic. Do your research, approach webmasters with a professional and thorough presentation, and follow through on your end of the agreement.

How to increase your profits with mailing lists is a must for anyone learning how to make a profit online. Opt-in boxes is what you should have on your web site and if optimized correctly. It can bring you a nice amount of ezine subscribers. That are willing to hear what you have to say and take your advice on recommendations. So make sure you always offer valuable web content since this is why they come to your site . Here is great article by my friend  Angela Wills to explain a little more.

5 Ways to Increase Your Profits With Mailing Lists by Angela Wills

Do you have a mailing list? When was the last time you had a look at how profitable the list is for you and made sure everything was up to date?

You’re likely one of the many people who’ve set up their list, got busy, and then forgot about it for a while. There are many things you can do right now to start making more money with your mailing list.

1. List Checkup – Go through every single message you have in your autoresponder series. This may take you a while to get through if you have a lot of messages set up, but it’s worth it.

Recently I switched my website format over to a wordpress site and deleted a lot of the pages from the other design. I had my autoresponder setup to refer to articles on my older site and with the update these were out of date and needed fixing, so I had to go back in and change the links. If your series of messages are too long and it’s just too much to handle by yourself hire a VA to help.

2. Opt-in Location – Do people know about your list? Don’t assume everyone will find you because you have an opt-in box in one or two locations on your website.

When setting up your list and describing it you’ll want to make sure that you deliver exactly what you offer then and beyond. A bullet-point list works well to let people know what your list offers without requiring too much of their attention to get them to read.

Many people make their list stand out by offering up a free ebook or report for signing up to the list. Other ideas are offer up an audio or a video. Whatever you offer make sure it is of high valuable and something that makes signing up for your list irresistible.

3. Add landing pages – You should be using double opt-ins to make sure your list has really requested to sign up. After the initial sign-up you will be able to direct them to a landing page. Make sure that landing page they come to grabs their attention and tells them to confirm, you could use something like this:

IMPORTANT: Please check your email inbox and confirm your subscription so that we can send you the information you requested.

Use that landing page to make an offer on your own product or offer an affiliate product. Or if you have a service based-business and want them to get to know you better then direct them to your articles page.

Once they confirm in their email you will be given another opportunity to create a specific landing page. Use that page to make another offer, or lead them to your website to read more information or articles.

You’ve got people’s attention once they get to your landing page and they HAVE to go somewhere once they’re done – it might as well be somewhere you can suggest to them so that you benefit from it.

4. Promote – Think of the places where you promote your list. Is it just in one little box on your website? There are many other places that you should be using to promote your mailing list.

Write articles that you submit to directories that have a bio leading to your opt-in page.
Make a special offer in your signature on forums (if they allow it)
Add a signature to your emails that tells people why they need to sign up for your list
Blog about your list and why they should join it

5. Contact as often as possible – You’ve heard this before but it’s time for a reminder. If your prospects don’t hear from you on a regular basis then they will forget about you and why the signed up in the first place.

How often you contact them will depend on what your list is about but it’s often said that you must be making contact at least once a month if you want to be remembered. Many topics will require you to contact your list once a week and this is perfectly acceptable to them because they asked for this information.

That is when Marketing on shoestring budget comes into play for the beginner internet marketer and online business owner.  Here are five things you can do for free to drive targeted traffic to your site and all for free.

-         Article Marketing is free and basically taking the time to write how to articles and general information about what you have to offer can be great information for those wanting what you have. Write and submit to article directories

-         Press releases have always been a great method to use for exposure for your business online and off. Using them online is great for seo and will bring you traffic. Some places to submit for free include http://www.1888pressrelease.com/ and http://www.24-7pressrelease.com/

However make sure you list your site in niched directories or directories pertaining to what your site is about.

These are all things that I have used in my marketing strategies, and continue to use since I know that It brings results.

The Three P’s Of Business.

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

I found myself the other night going through a couple of thoughts that have gone through my mind and things about my business mostly.  I realized that over the past couple of years of so of working on online and teaching people about internet marketing and continually learning new things myself. I came to the conclusion that running a successful business online takes a lot of heart. But mainly it takes three things that I call the three p’s of working for your self and making the decision to go solo. You might ask well what exactly are the three p’s that I am referring to.

Well the three p’s are what I call the main drive behind something that pushes you to move forward no matter how many times you fall. It is what gives you the edge to try new things continually over and over again until you are able to find what works for you.

Then sticking to that one thing and making it work through all the sweat and tears that you put into. Having the control and long term vision to see things through the long haul and knowing that within in yourself that it will work out in the end because you have faith that it will.

These three P’s include:

  1. Persistence
  2. Patience
  3. Performance

Patience is the one thing that many people lack a lot of. However If you are going to run a business and go into with your eyes closed and not realize. All the time and research that It takes to bring your dream to life, then you are selling yourself short and not giving yourself the true chance that it deserves. By sticking to just one thing and making it work. Patience is something that can be learned and although one may not see results right away in their business, they need to know that if they keep patience as one of three p’s of running a business then you know in time you will have success.

Persistence is what runs the business and the ultimate force behind whether you continue with something or not. When times get hot in your business and sometimes every thing that you do seems to not be working. That is when you continue with persistence and keep trying something new and learning new things, and that one thing adds with the next thing and finally one plus one equals two. Get it, persistence is what keeps you doing things and completing things even in the hard and beginning times of your business.

Performance is the love you put into your business, this is what shows in the product you produce. Do you put all your heart into your business or do you just fumble along and put only half your foot forward afraid to take it to the next step. Performance involves taking risks and trying new things in order that you can improve your existing state of your business and making it the best that you yourself can make it for your self and for those that listen to you.

I hope that you follow the three p’s of patience, persistence, and performance. And make it work to the best that you can and put all of yourself into your business and stop cutting your self short and realize that with a business comes responsibility and attitude on your part to make what you want to happen to come true.

seobook234x60 How to use Search Engine Optimization

SEO….

SEO, to many people these three letters sound like a secret code. But, to Internet marketers these three little letters are priceless. SEO stands for search engine optimization. The process is one that is absolutely necessary for anyone trying to market their website and gain traffic.

SEO helps to make a site and its content highly relevant for search engines and searchers. It aids the searcher in finding your site by putting out specific keywords and phrases for your site into the search engines so that they can be found. Successful search engine optimization can help a site to gain high rankings in the search engines, allowing it to be found more easily.

Here are a few ways to easily search engine optimize your website:

1. Make sure the first 100 words of your website are full of keywords that you want people to be able to search and find your site using.

2. Be sure to use your top keywords in any links back to your site. Have those who link to your site use those top words when linking to you.

3. Target one keyword per page. You can’t expect to try to cram every keyword on every page. It is much more useful to do one per page where once visitors are at your site they can more easily find the info that they need.

4. Use your top keyword in your header. Either as your title of your site or as a tagline works well.

5. Use top keywords in both the top and bottom sections of your web copy with a few keywords sprinkled in the middle as well. Keyword rich copy is very valuable for search engine optimization.

6. It is important also that when you do obtain links back to your site, try to only have sites which link back to you with the same information on their site that you are trying to target. It does not help to have a site about baby food with a link back to your site about how to sell computers.

7. Continue to have unique content by adding fresh pages to your site on a regular basis. Search engines love fresh content not “Duplicate Content”! This will increase your chances of having people find your site on a consistent basis.

These are just a few tips which should help to properly search engine optimize your website. Search engine optimization sounds scary at first but is really not so difficult once you get started and learn the terms and how to use them and put them into place on your website.
