How To Develop A Compelling and Magnetic Blog Writing Style

How To Develop A Compelling and Magnetic Blog Writing Style

Most bloggers stink at writing. There’s a good reason why and I’ll explain it in a moment. For now, it’s important for you to understand that anyone can develop a compelling blog writing style. If writing doesn’t come naturally to you, it’ll take practice. But, it will come and your audience will thank you.

Today, I’m going to tell you how you can develop a powerful blogging voice. When people read your posts, influential blogger How To Develop A Compelling and Magnetic Blog Writing Styleyou want them to hear your voice in their heads. And when they leave, you want them to leave thinking about what you’ve written.

That’s a compelling blog writing style.

Write How You Speak? Maybe

How often have you heard bloggers recommend that you write in the same manner you speak? Believe it or not, that advice does more harm than good.

The next time you’re in public, listen to the conversations of others. You’ll notice people choose poor phasing, use words improperly, and make points that are muddied and hard to follow. In person, the listener can fight through those problems and still understand what is being said. When you write a blog, it’s much harder. Your message must be precise.

So, when blogging, don’t write how you speak. Instead, write your blog with a style that is conversational, but exact. It’s more compelling to your readers.

Get To The Point

I’ve heard bloggers say that you should state your point in the first 300 words of your post. I disagree. In the span of 300 words, your readers will become restless. The phone, television, refrigerator, and other websites call to them. You will lose some of them.

Get to your point within the first 100 words of each blog post. Remember, your readers have a million other blogs to read. If you don’t grab their attention and draw them in immediately, they’ll go elsewhere.

What George Orwell Can Teach You About Blog Writing

In 1946, Orwell wrote an essay titled “Politics and the English Language.” In it, he offered great advice about writing. I’ll paraphrase.

1.Don’t use figures of speech. They’re boring. Writing “neither here nor there” will put your blog readers to sleep.

2.Short words are better than long words.

3.If you can get rid of a word, get rid of it. Immediately.

4.Use an active voice when writing. Don’t say “the girl was running.” Say “the girl ran.”

5.Stop using buzzwords and jargon unless you must in order to get your point across.

Blogging is one of the most effective internet marketing strategies you can use. But, to squeeze the most value from it, you need to develop a compelling blog writing style. That’s what attracts new readers. It is what motivates your current readers to return over and over.

There may be millions of blogs, but few are written well. The good news is that a compelling writing style stands out from the crowd. Write in a conversational tone, get the to point quickly, and follow Orwell’s advice. Your blogging voice will ring with clarity and be remembered.

Motivational Triggers that Make People Buy

Within this article on web copywriting procedures, we will look at how to structure your copywriting when working for a client. There has been a great deal of copywriting done through the years and it is not necessary to reinvent the wheel every time you want to write copy.

We will specifically be focused upon the sales letter because this could have the greatest impact for you, especially if you decide to do SEO copywriting.

One particular school of thought speaks to making your website one large online sales letter. Continuing in this train of thought, this could present a great opportunity for you. You could write for both off-line businesses as well as for online business using the format of a sales letter.

Within a sales letter, there are three main components that will make a difference whether or not your product will sell.

The first component is the headline.

If you do not grab your prospects’ attention right away, you will have wasted your time in developing the rest of the copy.

The second component of a sales letter is the offer.

This part is important as you must be explicit with the offer to give the prospect what he or she now wants. It must be something that will entice the prospect to take action upon the completion of reading the letter.

The final component of a sales letter is the postscript.

This is the second most read portion of a sales letter after the headline. When you are writing this, this is the extra incentive that you will be using to motivate your prospects to take advantage of the offer that you presented right away. When you are focusing upon writing a sales letter, you should take each particular step of the sales letter in order. You do not sit down and just writes a sales letter completely through but rather take it step by step. This entails writing the headline followed by writing the offer and then followed by writing the postscript.

Using internet copywriting information will ensure that you will have set yourself up for great success.

If you do not have a great deal of experience within copywriting, make sure to follow the examples of copywriting procedures set up by some of the foremost experts. One of the key authors who you should look into is Dan Kennedy. He has written some great books over the years and is a great resource for you to use.

Hopefully this article on copywriting procedures will help you in becoming a better copywriter. The key behind successful copywriting is to use the formulas that have been developed while putting your own spin on what you’re writing. Copywriting procedures are important because people have developed these in a certain method to be successful for a reason. There is no need to reinvent the wheel because this will only be frustrating for you in the long run as you’ll find that you have less sales while putting in more effort. By taking the time to follow operating procedures, you’ll set yourself up to maximize potential sales when developing a sales letter.

Copywriters have a very interesting niche in that you can use your own writing to help you develop leads. If you find that you had many inconsistent advertising methods, think about developing a sales letter to help bring in qualified leads. If you develop a successful sales letter, you can send this out in quantities which you pre-determine. The beauty of this is that you can quantify the amount of work that you want to do in a given month and mail out that many sales letters. After having used a consistent sales letter for a certain period of time, you will know what the response rate is and this will allow you to know how much business you should potentially get from mailing a certain number of letters. This can make sure that you always have clients coming into the door when you want them to. It can also help you better pattern the business after your life and lifestyle so that you can pick up the pace when you have extra time and slow things down when other parts of your life become busier.

If you have quite a few clients who are telemarketers or you would like to start developing telemarketers as potential clients, you may want to look into developing a sales letter for one of these companies. Telemarketing has become much more expensive and more inconsistent these days due to new laws and it is an industry with very high turnover. Developing a sales letter to send to qualified prospects in the beginning can make telemarketing more effective for these companies and potentially reduce turnover. If you are able to quantify the savings in training employees as well as in better sales, you will find yourself called upon by many telemarketing companies because you will have put yourself in their shoes and can understand the business struggles that they go through.

The final way that we will use a sales letter and one way in which you could increase your business is to focus upon dentists and doctors office. Often these professionals are consistently looking for new clients and this could be a way to help them out. You could use a sales letter to help stimulate referrals.

Branding Downloadable E-books and Special Reports

Special Report ClubBusinesses these days have to create a presence that will make them stand out above the rest and separate themselves as being different from the competition. Especially online when businesses move at faster rate to keep up with everything that is changing so rapidly from day to day.

Customers online are able to see any number of items at a fraction of the time and compare products and sites within a couple of seconds and get feedback from previous commenter and just by the whole feel of what you have to offer.

These opinions will feed into the type of brand that you are trying to create with your products. Overall, branding works from a number of levels. First you have the name of the business and your logo. It appears on all of the correspondence that you send out and products that you market for sale.

Branding shows up in the customer service you provide and many products that you place on the market.

Besides the product and the name, other materials can be branded as well. Take special reports and downloadable e-Books, for instance. They are two products that can help to grow your business. They work along the same lines as article marketing.

Special reports and e- books are books that are written by you on a specific topic. They are also called information product because they provide information about a topic of interest. E-Books and special reports can be downloaded from your website. Instead of mailing the material, customers can get it directly from the site. The material is easy to brand with your logo and other information.

It doesn’t take a lot of time to produce a special report. In fact many special reports can now be written for by ghost writers that write information for you and you keep all the information as if you wrote it yourself. These special reports are e-books range in page length from five to twenty pages. To increase their visibility, you can showcase excerpts from the first page of each report on the website. When the customer clicks on the link to read more, they will be redirected to where they can purchase the report. The use of relevant and popular keywords in the report will get the excerpts noticed in search engines and bring more traffic. .

Use popular social networks to promote the brand. Create small video commercials about the products and services you want to brand. Upload them to You Tube so people can see your branding strategy in action.

In order for these reports, e-Books, videos, and other materials to get noticed, branding is extended to the sales leads. Your branded reports won’t get the notice that they deserve if you are marketing to the wrong people. Don’t forget that the brand promotes an image and the traffic you want will be targeted to those who buy into your brand.

From now until Nov. 30th my readers can get a $9 discount on their first month to the Special Report Club. That means that you can grab your first month of membership access for only $10 bucks for the first month

Writing For the Web

Website Writing Strategies

Internet writing for the web and your own personal website is different in some ways, but none the less. Writing strategies are pretty much the same for the internet with a few minor exceptions. But the main thing to remember is that you are writing for a large audience. People that are coming to you for advice on how to do something or learn something important from you, and it is your responsibility to fulfill that need.

So why write for the internet and what benefit can writing for your audiences do for you and your website?

Well for one the constant creation of fresh updated content helps a website to build pages and continually overtime. Increasing your chances of being found on the internet and delivers much needed information to your target audience. But how do you write to keep them coming back for more.

Well for one thing your writing skill is not something to be concerned about in the beginning. Don’t overwrite as if trying to sound like someone your not or overly descriptive when it comes to choosing certain words. Use easy to read fonts and sizes and colors on the page, especially if you have a blog since this is one well known strategy in internet writing.

You only have a short amount of time to get across what you have to say since the attention span of people browsing the internet is much shorter compared to regular reading.

Try to keep your information short and to the point because people are at your site are only there for a short period of time then they are to the next main thing. Keep your web content scannable with easy to see bullets, images and headlines when appropriate.

Because this keeps the information in a systematic format, and makes it easier for them to get the meaning of your article a lot quicker.

Here are some main tips to consider when writing for the web.

• Write naturally without using fancy exaggerations
• Write in a conversational style and address the reader
• Use sub-headlines for internet writing
• Use call to action phrases such as “see here now” or “Click Me”
• Use keywords naturally with out overstuffing
• Write with smaller paragraphs and read your work over when complete

Website writing is something that is really easy and when put into practice. Your web content and writing skills for the internet will improve over time. However in the long run it will keep your visitors longer absorbing the information you have to offer them.

PLR- Private Label rights- Content etc…

Friday, August 8th, 2008

Content on a web site is the main key to promoting and sustaining the life of your site, the more content you have the more pages you will have and the more chances you will have of someone finding your website on the internet.

However writing free content is not as easy for most people and many feel that writing can be pretty scary and intimidating at first. That is why I feel one should use a mixture of content when It comes to adding information to their site, if they feel intimidated by the prospect of writing.

Some examples of the different types you could use include:

1. Writing your own unique content for your website

2. Using Private label Rights Articles for your site

3. Private label articles that are rewritten with your own voice

4. Free plr

5. Free Reprint Articles from article directories that are relevant and on point

6. Ebooks that you have with some of the info posted for free to your site.

Many times you find reprint articles that express the same idea that you had in mind or has the same style of writing that is similar to you own voice. These are the free reprints I recommend you use since they would be something you write about and hold some value to your target market. Rewriting a PLR article gives it your voice to the details and information, and also gives you a chance to tweak the keywords. This is your best PLR option, make it your own!

Writing your own unique web content is quite easy and with a little research into what you are going to write about you can easily crank out a small amount of content in no time. Try not to feel too intimidated by how much to write just write the article and stop when you feel the need to stop. Don’t put pressure on yourself to write a large amount, focus more on the quality and what your readers want to read and you will do great.

Realize however that many sites cannot survive on private label resell rights articles alone or on free plr but needs to have content that comes directly from you and adds your own style and flair to it. This is what will set your site apart and make it unique and at the same time increase your readership, with a loyal following.

Use private label articles and Free Plr to a minimum to increase content on your site, but remember the best free web content is you own unique web content.

How to Build Your Email Newsletters Successfully!

Email Newsletters

As an online business owner, there are several keys to success. One of these keys is to have a email newsletter list and to provide that list with something of importance. A good way to do this is to offer a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly ezine with valuable information that they are need and want.

Building an ezine can be easy. There are important steps to take to ensure that you make a success of it. You will need to plan and know what you are getting into. Some of the things you must consider are, how many times you will send the ezine, again, weekly, bi-weekly or possibly monthly, what you will do to obtain subscribers, the type of content you will provide, and how you will actually send out the ezine.

Being consistent in sending out the ezine itself is important. The more often you get your information in front of your readers the better so a weekly list is most likely your best bet. You will want to set a day aside to create your email advertising as well as a specific day each week that the email newsletters will be sent out.

Though those are important decisions to consider and make, you will obviously need subscribers in order to have someone to send your newsletters out, so you will need a strategy for obtaining those subscribers. Offering a freebie on your website with a sign up box for your list is one of the best ways to do this. You can also create a sign up page that you can link to via your signature line and in the resource box of articles submission services that you distribute.

Next, you will need to determine the type of content that you will provide in your newsletters. Will the ezine be merely a list of tips each week, a way to provide updates from your business or will it include articles and recommended resources. This is up to you to decide and you may write the content yourself or hire a virtual assistant or ghostwriter to do it for you.

Finally, you will need a way to distribute the ezine. Most likely, your list will grow to be fairly large so it would be best to have a system in place that will send the emails for you automatically. There are online programs available such as auto responders and ezine directories that will help to make this task a breeze.

Following these steps and taking these actions can help you to ensure that you create an ezine that is successful and of value to you and your business.

The Power of Opt-in lists.

Saturday, July 5th, 2008

Ezine and using an opt-in list is something that has been around now for some time on the internet. And many marketers know that this is the way to go if you plan to really market you services online.

Newsletter Publishing is basically an ezine which is an electronic magazine or basic newsletter that people can subscribe to. Subscribers usually opt in – by an opt-in box placed in a noticeable location on your site. Opting in means they find you and subscribe to your newsletter. This method is not just randomly sent out to email lists, but to people who want to continue to receive information from you about information they are seeking. It is a great way to remind people of your products and services and keeps it in their reach.

Newsletter or ezine is to be kept as something informative and not just some sales pitch on every publishing. But should be used as a tool to position yourself as an expert in your niche, some great things you could use to add to your list could include:

1.    Give away freebies, like e-books and e-classes as a free gift to your subscribers

2.    Add interactive bits like polls and surveys of the reader base

3.    Enhance your ezine with plr and other original articles

4.    Share product reviews and links to other informative sites for your readers

5.    Keep an eye on industry related news and share and discuss it with your readers

6.    Sponsor ads with other like topic ezine publishers to grow your subscriber base

Copywriting tips that work!

6 Powerful Copywriting Tips That work!

Copywriting is the one skill which all online business owners should learn. As an online marketer you communicate through words – if those words aren’t effectively conveying your message, then you’re in for a long and bumpy ride.

Here are a few copywriting tips:

Know your Target Market – Good copywriters know exactly who they’re writing for before starting. They speak directly to ONE person and keep that same person in mind at all times. If you try to reach too many people with your copy you’ll end up missing your target altogether and not reaching anyone at all. Before starting, know exactly who you’re writing your copy for and stick to it.

Headlines that Intrigue – Use clear headlines throughout your copy to guide the reader. Your main headline should be in bold and large letters to grab the reader’s attention. It is often the headline which can either make or break your copy. Use a benefit-focused headline, which explains in powerful detail how you can help solve the customer’s problem. Then use sub-headlines throughout the copy to keep the reader intrigued so they will keep reading.

Don’t use Big Words – Online writing is different to the writing you did in English class. Throw out the text book and forget all those rules your teacher taught you. Online writing is casual and needs to convey emotion and a clear purpose. You need to speak to the person as though you’re sitting down with them and chatting over a coffee… stay away from big words and long adjectives or risk boring (and losing) your prospects!

Be Persuasive – If you love your product that’s great but it’s also a bit biased. Your customers want to hear from other unbiased people who have used your product. Include customer testimonials but not just any testimonial will do, the more information you can include the better. Try to include the person’s full name, city, state, website URL and if possible a picture of that person. The more information your testimonial includes the more persuasive and believable.

It’s not all about you! – In fact, it’s not about you at all. Effective copywriting is concerned with the needs of the customer. The writer doesn’t really matter… Of course, you may need to add a little personal information about yourself in order to gain trust and to explain why your customer should trust you, but even in this case it’s all about what you can do for them. Go through your copy, does it contain a lot of “I’s” then it’s time for a serious re-write. Go back and change most of those “I’s” to “You’s”. Your writing should always be about the customer.

Don’t forget the call – The call to action that is. You must guide your visitors and tell them what you expect them to do. If you want them to click over and purchase your weight loss product, say so, and say so in a clear way which promotes all the benefits of your products “Click here to learn how you can lose those last 10 pounds and keep it off for good” . Be precise in your wording and always include a clear call to action.
