It took me a bit of ti,e to build a good followers base, but now, each time I publish a post and tweet about it with the plugin you're talking about (actually I'm using another similar tactic to spread widely my new posts...) I can be sure that a certain percentage of my followers are going to read it or, at least, come to my site. And you know what? Conversion rates apply to Twitter followers the same way they apply to any website: based on the way you built your audience (more or less targeted), the 1 to 3 % of them will take action and click on your link. Another reason to have more and more followers. I can see the results of all that.
