Small business marketing can encompass many things form pay per click advertising to buying ads on related sites in your niche. However all this takes money and if not completed carefully and with great market research, you could end up spending more and not getting anything in return.

That is when Marketing on shoestring budget comes into play for the beginner internet marketer and online business owner.  Here are five things you can do for free to drive targeted traffic to your site and all for free.

-         Article Marketing is free and basically taking the time to write how to articles and general information about what you have to offer can be great information for those wanting what you have. Write and submit to article directories

-         Press releases have always been a great method to use for exposure for your business online and off. Using them online is great for seo and will bring you traffic. Some places to submit for free include http://www.1888pressrelease.com/ and http://www.24-7pressrelease.com/

-         Keyword Research is something many businesses fail to utilize for their business and the biggest mistake when it comes to a website. Competitive market research using the best keywords will bring you free organic traffic to your site on a constant basis.

-         Ecourses are an excellent way to give your target customers a way to learn about what you have to offer and gives you a way to stay in contact with them. By having them opt-in to get the information is a win win on both ends in the long run.

-         Directories listing are another great way to market your online site for free or basically pretty close to it. Since most directories only cost anywhere from a $1.00 to $200.00 for maximum listings. But I have used the free ones and have seen just as much traffic. However make sure you list your site in niched directories or directories pertaining to what your site is about.

These are all things that I have used in my marketing strategies, and continue to use since I know that It brings results.

    I am glad that you have been able to implement some of the methods. As far as making a e-course you can use mortgage plr or private label rights or you can write your own short 3 day course on your market. About half a page, it does not have to be that long. Depending on your market.
