Today’s technology has made the use of many different types of media available to anyone who is willing to take advantage of it. One of these types of media is video and now thanks to a website called YouTube anyone can be a star, or use the site which will allow you to publish your own video to create a video that will help to market their business and drive traffic to their site.

So, how does one make use of YouTube as a means to drive traffic to their site? Here are a few suggestions for you to use to begin taking advantage of this opportunity:

Be professional. Just putting up an amateur video on YouTube does not guarantee that this will be a good thing for you and your business. You will want to make your image and brand be promoted as well as possible so that people will see that you are a person of authority and truly a contact that is worth their time to find out more about by visiting your site because of viewing your video.

Keep it short. The videos do not need to be terribly long, in fact, less than five minutes is best. People just do not want to have the video eat up too much of their time, make it too long and you will be wasting your efforts.

Build a following. Make sure that once you have created the video itself that you promote it. You may already be a part of a great network or circle of influence and you can use this to your advantage and ask that they visit YouTube view your video, rate it and promote it to others that they know. The more traffic it sees the more it will increase the traffic to your website.

Don’t forget your URL. Be sure to post your URL in the video itself so that there will be no question of where the viewer will go for more information from the person behind the video.
