Become a Better Blogger! Day Three

writingsmall.jpg Bloggers and all writers need to all learn that writing on the spur of the moment can be a good thing, if it is saved as draft and allowed to come back to at a later time to update the information. The same thing if even more so can apply to bloggers who want to improve on their posts. Writing and saving the information then uploading it for days to come is a great way to add information to posts on a regular basis. It will give your blog the consistency that it needs to be successful as a blogger by keeping great posts. It can also give you as a blogger a break in your regular routine if you plan to take a vacation or something.

Here are some ideas to help you when writing for the internet:

- fresh updated content helps a website work
- don’t overwrite, but be descriptive
- use easy to read fonts, sizes, and colors on the page
- keep it short, get to the point
- make it scanable, use images, bullets, and headlines where appropriate
- use your keywords, but use them naturally don’t stuff
- use small paragraphs and white space to make it easier on the eyes
- write naturally, don’t try to use fancy wording and exaggeration
- write in a conversational style, address the reader
- spell check and clean up your writing
- read aloud to yourself when you’re finished, does it make sense and read smoothly
- sub-headlines help the reader find what they are looking for
- use call to action phrases to get readers to go where you want them to go
